  The Senate of Lagos State University (LASU) has elected Prof. Opebi Afisi the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) of the university. This is according to  a Monday statement released by Mrs. Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, LASU. “Afisi, a Professor of Philosophy. He will succeed Prof. Olufunsho Abayomi Omobitan, whose tenure will end on Jan. 29. “Afisi will assume office on Jan. 30,” she said. Academic activities have fully resumed at the Lagos State University, LASU, Orangesprings Blog can confirm. There had been speculations that LASU staff were going to embark on a strike action over agitation for raise in remuneration, which the Visitor of the University and Governor of the State has immediately acted upon in a briefing verified by this blog.
