LASU portal opens for registration as students return to classes

Academic activities have fully resumed at the Lagos State University, LASU, Orangesprings Blog can confirm.

There had been speculations that LASU staff were going to embark on a strike action over agitation for raise in remuneration, which the Visitor of the University and Governor of the State has immediately acted upon in a briefing verified by this blog.

The institution then went on Christmas and New Year break to resume for the New Year.

Following this, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM

on Monday 6th January  approved the commencement of online course registration for full-time undergraduate students for the First Semester of the 2024/2025 academic session.

This announcement was made in a statement posted on the university’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday.

New and returning students can now access the registration portal, according to LASU.

LASU urged all students to make payment of at least 70% and 50% school fees for Stream 1 and Stream 2, respectively.

It also asked them to ensure completion of online course registration, completion of course operations (add or delete of courses, where necessary), printing of the registration form/exams slip, and endorsement of course registration form/exams slip by the HOD.

For students who miss the registration deadline, LASU also revealed that a late registration portal has been made available.

“Late online courses registration with the payment of N5,000 (Five Thousand Naira) penalty fee may be activated for defaulting students.”

The entire students’ populace is, therefore, enjoined to complete both the payment of school fees (and other applicable fees) and courses registration immediately, it added.
