The College Board experienced a glitch that impacted SAT test administrations nationwide on Saturday March 8th, 2025, including sessions at Martin County High School and South Fork High School.
Student test-takers were encouraged by their proctors to contact The College Board to inquire about makeup test opportunities as a result of this issue. In addition, the district has submitted an irregularity report to advise The College Board of all students who experienced an impact on their testing time.
Updates concerning the rectification of this issue will be communicated to applicable students once received from The College Board.
In Nigeria, Orangesprings learnt that SAT takers in Lagos, recorded no glitches. The exam which began at 8:00 am ended at 11:00am WAT .
Hundreds of SAT test takers showed up at the Lagos venue of the examination, carrying their laptops, International Passport and exam tickets.
Orangesprings gathered that the examination was seamless as there was no network issue unlike what was obtainable in some parts of the world.
According to a parent, Susie,Siri popped up on her Mac computer, disrupting tte examination as she was logged out before time.
In Susie's words, "Siri popped up during my daughter’s SAT test today on her Mac computer and several other students in her exam room and adjacent rooms at Exactly the same time. She was unable to finish test since it logged out immediately. Now what?! Why did this happen?!"
Another parent, identified simply as OldTownMom said her son lost 90 minutes during the examination.
According to her in a tweet, : "Mine lost 90 minutes. Hers ended 1.5 hours early and the proctor told her she couldn’t do anything about it and made her sit there while everyone else got to actually finish."
According to a test taker's post on Reddit, the school received a message that all takers should log in and and then relog in, which ate into their time.
According to him:
"My school got a message saying you had to log and log back in so the error doesn't happen, but we got it while we were already in the test. They told us to all exit the test and join back. Problem is, when you do that, the proctor needs to allow you back in, and theres like 4 steps they have to click through for that which took them like 30 seconds per person. When we got back into the test, everyone realized the timer was still going while we weren't in the test. I had 22 minutes left on the second reading module when I was told to exit, but when I got back in, I had 7 minutes left. I didn't get to put an answer down for half of the entire module. I wasn't sure if I should just guess random answers, I thought maybe if I did than College Board wouldn't do anything about it because I still answered everything. I'm busy on the next few SAT dates coming up, I don't know what to do.
Edit: Also, my test ended at 11:04. If I just kept going, I would've only lost 4 minutes on the math. Instead, I lost 15 on the reading."
The results of the test will be released from March 21st, according to College Board.
