16 UNILORIN academics promoted to professor rank after demonstrating class, selflessness

The University of Ilorin has announced the promotion of 16 of its senior academics to the rank of Professor.


This is according to a Thursday statement from the Registrar's Office  Thursday evening and immediately obtained by Orangesprings Blog.

Their elevation, following the recommendations of the University Appointment and Promotion Committee (A&PC) and with the approval of the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, SAN, recognises their exceptional achievements in teaching, research, and community service.


According to the quoted statement, 16 distinguished scholars were found to have excelled in the realms of teaching, research and community service.


The breakdown of the beneficiaries of the promotion exercise shows that three of the new Professors are produced by the Faculty of Clinical Sciences and they are Prof. John Kola Olarinoye, Prof. James Ayodele Ogunmodede, and Prof. Simeon Kayode Olubiyi.


The Faculty of Education produced Prof. Abdulrahman Suyuti Omosidi, who teaches at the Department of Educational Management.


Two lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology were also elevated to the rank of Professor and they are Prof. Kamorudeen Olaniyi Yusuf and Prof. Habeeb Adewale Ajimotokan
